NEW WAY TO DANCE  TOGETHER SAFELY

From Bob Becker, a Twin Cities West Coast swing/country dancer:

I have a new idea for allowing us to dance together again. Four things must be done at dance parties and lessons:

1-WEAR A PLASTIC FACE SHIELD attached to a clear eyeglass frame that covers your whole face. (See photo here.)

Don't laugh – I tried one dancing several dance styles with Lynne Schulz. They work fine. They are lightweight and flexible, so you can get your heads close together even for Argentine tango!! It is easier to breathe than under a small mask. Your breath is exhaled down. No straps or headbands. Clear so you can see your partner's face. (Not 100% safe,) Find on at https://www.amazon.com/s?k=face+shield+with+glasses or E-Bay.com, $4-8 depending on quantity you buy. Dance hosts: buy several to sell at your dance parties. You can wear another style or a mask, but you must be able to breathe freely, so you don't faint.

2-DANCE HOSTS SHOULD CHECK EVERYONE'S TEMPERATURE with a thermometer “gun” used

on the forehead as they enter the building.(Please stay home if you feel sick, warm, are coughing,

have runny nose, sore throat, etc !!!) You also need to keep a written list of all attendees .

3-USE HAND SANITIZER EACH TIME YOU ENTER the dance floor room even after going to the

lobby, restroom, or outside (hosts should provide bottles).

4-SHOWER, WASH HAIR / BEARD, put on CLEAN CLOTHES before dancing as wearing other

protective gear would be very hot.

Please discuss this idea right away with dance instructors/ hosts. (Lists of these people, studios,

clubs, venues are on www.lynnesdancenews.com). Or rent a space and host your own dance

party!! Let's get dancing! Thank you.-from Bob Becker, your fellow dancer, 612-964-1801
